OTC Olympics

This fine group of people are my OTC Olympics silver medal-winning colleagues. I can only imagine what all of the people driving by thought of 60+ people running around the yard outside of our office.

This is better than some of the yoga moves they might have seen earlier in the week when we took our class outside. Anyone who's familiar with yoga might know the happy baby pose? If not, it's probably better not to go there!

Seriously though. What a great place to work with a bunch of nutty fun people! Lisa, our director is in the back on the right with the crazy pink wig. My boss, Beth is on the right front (opposite me) with the pink do rag. Our CEO even joined us for some of the shenanigans.

Sooooo Tired!

Little miss crabby pants refused to take a nap at school today. She left the dinner table to go lay down and when I tried to wake her at 8:00, she was sound asleep. I just went to check on her again and couldn't resist taking some pictures. She's going to have the pattern of this net embedded in her face! She's out...hopefully for the night. Yes, her room is always this messy.

Are we in Iowa yet?

On Saturday, we took the kids to my great aunt Pat and great uncle Don's farm outside of Red Oak, Iowa for a family picnic. We told Chloe we were going to Iowa and she did really well except for the last 30 minutes or so during which she asked if we were in Iowa yet about 20 times.

The weather was really beautiful and we had so much fun! We played soccer, blew bubbles and rode on the (John Deere) Gator. Chloe really enjoyed checking out all of the farm equipment. Pat & Don have a beautiful farm on a hill and you can see rolling hills, covered in crops for miles. We forgot how quiet the country is and marveled at the sound of the wind.

Parker loved crawling around in the HUGE yard! I won't let him do this in our backyard!

Chloe got to pick her own sweet corn from the garden! Dad is going to grill it up yummy for us!

No School Today!

The kids' school was closed on Friday 8/8 so Ray and I both took the day off to do something fun as a family. We had planned to go to the waterpark at Mahoney State Park but Parker had been a little sick so we opted for the zoo instead.

If someone knows the secret of getting two small kids to look at the camera at the same time, I'd love to know some tricks.
