Berkshire Weekend

Ray worked all of last weekend for the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting. It was tough on all of us. He worked his butt off all weekend and the kids and I did lots of running around. We went out with grandma and grandpa Gouger to Hectors on Friday night (per Chloe's request). They had quite a fiesta going on for Cinco de Mayo. Both kids really enjoyed the mariachi band! Shirley came over on Saturday and we went to Elkhorn for some yummy Dairy Chef ice cream.

While Ray was working on Sunday, the kids and I went to Lowes and bought some flowers and then to Scheels to get the kids some Teva shoes for summer. Parker wasn't too fond at first but then he realized how nice it was to liberate his toes from his shoes and socks. Plus it's really easy to dump the sand out! Here they are playing on the swing set.

Our prairie fire crab tree opened up on Sunday - isn't it beautiful? It smells good too. This is the best of at least 5 pictures I took with the tree. It seems to be impossible to get two smiling faces in the same shot. They are growing up so fast!

Chloe has her first dance recital in a couple of weeks. I completely forgot that last Saturday was picture day so imagine my humiliation when I walked in to dance, two kids in tow, and saw all of the girls in costumes and makeup. Yep, I'm that mom. Fortunately another mom sensed my my teetering on the edge of a nervous breakdown, grabbed Chloe and proceeded to put her hair in the requisite bun and apply her makeup (including mascara for the first time). They loaned me a costume and voila! She was in the pictures. I can't wait for dance to get over!!!
